Anna Brackett Neff was born on January 14th, 1847 in Wilton, New York. In 1858, she came to Mount Vernon with her parents, William and Elisabeth Brackett. The family lived in Ely until 1860, when they moved to Mount Vernon. In 1862, they built Brackett House. Anna graduated from Cornell College in 1867 with a Bachelor’s of Science. In 1868, she married Myron Kibbee Neff. The two were business partners in the ownership and management of The Neff Furniture Store. They had four children: Fred, Charles William, Edgar, and Elisabeth. Anna died on June 13th, 1912.
