Clara Ada Brackett

Clara Ada Brackett was born to Elizabeth Sherman Brackett and William Brackett in 1859. She married William Smith and later married Armstrong Spear. She lived in Brackett house for most of her life and was known for entertaining many visitors there, including President William Howard Taft. She was a talented pianist and taught piano at Cornell. Clara had two children: William Edgar, who died at the age of two, and Elisabeth, who went on to become a journalist and novelist. Clara died in 1927.
